Chester Bourfa
Safety Management Consultant, Construction
Thanks for Visiting my profile, my Name is Chester and here's a bit more about me...
Chester Bourfa's Bio:
I am Glasgow born and bred and from a young age I showed an interest in construction. I was always more fascinated by building blogs and toy diggers than dinosaurs or football and that never really left me.
I went to school in the East End and then went on to University where I studied construction before finding my niche in safety management.
Don’t worry, I’m not one of these health and safety enthusiasts that would have us all walking around in bubble wrap. My area of expertise lies in safety controls in the construction industry. Prevention is obviously key and we also look at incidents that have occurred, why they occurred and how to stop things like that happening again.
I am lucky enough to have had the opportunity to further my education by completing the IOSH working safely course at Glasgow Clyde College. Because it was a part time course lasting under a week I was able to fit in in around my work.
Following that qualification I was invited to a consultancy panel in the UK which has allowed me the opportunity to travel and meet other professionals. It is through this and my further education that I have been able to carry out my job to a high standard and ensure the safety of colleagues and peers.
In my spare time I am an amateur photographer as well as an avid traveler so I try to get away as often as I can.
I still live in Glasgow and to be quite honest, it would take quite a lot to move me from here. I love to travel but there really is no place like home.
